Williams' Magpies career ended

The Welsh forward will now remain with the Lambs until Saturday 22 April, after impressing during his initial month with Mark Cooper's side.

Williams has scored five times in seven appearences for the Conference strugglers and - despite the Magpies strikers managing a collective total of just two goals from open play in nearly FOUR months - looks set to play out his Notts contract - that expires in the summer - away from Meadow Lane.

The 23-year-old former Man Utd trainee was transfer-listed by manager Gudjon Thordarson on the eve of the current campaign and has made just two first-team appearences this season, before joining the ambitious non-league outfit at the end of January.

Williams can currently count Magpies legend Tommy Johnson, former England international Paul Merson and much-travelled winger Nicky Summerbee among his team-mates, while Thordarson can call upon just three recognised strikers going into Saturday's crunch derby against Mansfield Town.
