After signing from Championship side Crewe Alexandra in the summer, White has found the net just twice in ten starts for County in a season that, by his own admission, has brought his career to a near-standstill. And with his contract, like all bar two of his team-mates, set to expire in the summer, White sees this as the perfect time to jump ship in order to put his torrid time with the club behind him.
“I do not think my future lies with
"This is a great club, and it is just one of those things. We just never hit it off. I will just have to put it down to experience.
“I was looking to go somewhere and play a lot of games and score some goals. When I left
“I came in here two weeks after they had started and it took five months to get the weight down.
Whilst the only decision contract-wise has been made to re-sign midfielder David Pipe, the rest of the squad remain very much in the lurch over their futures. White, however, who turned out in the Notts reserves' 5-1 defeat at the hands of Port Vale yesterday, appears almost resigned to leaving the club.
"You have to put it down to experience and even if I do not get a contract here I will be working hard during the close season with Whits (Notts coach Mike Whitlow) to keep myself in shape.
"I will have a couple of weeks off playing golf (when season finishes) then I will be back doing the hard work because I need to be fit for next season."
Whatever the outcome of the management's decision on White, be sure that NCM will bring you news as and when we receive it.
