Wrexham players have admitted that boss Brian Carey's hair-dryer tactics are the main reason why the Dragons beat relegation.

Wrexham trailed Boston 1-0 at the break on Saturday, but Carey's harsh words at the interval steered the Welshmen to an eventual

3-1 win.

Dragons skipper Neil Roberts said: "I can't repeat what was said, but it gave us a kick up the backside to come out for the second half."

Tough centre midfielder Danny Williams added that Wrexham are glad to beat the drop and that they will be looking to build on their end of season form ahead of the forthcoming campaign.

"We'll enjoy the victory, but we know that we've massively under-achieved this year. We can come back and do a lot better," he told the BBC.

Meanwhile, promoted Swindon boss Paul Sturrock is already planning for survival in League One next season.

The Robins chief has warned fans not to get too carried away for.

"We've got to make sure we survive next year and I need to emphasise it'll be just about trying to stay in the division."

Swindon secured promotion with their final day 1-1 draw with Walsall, and the Town boss is under no illusions of how difficult the task will be next year.

Mathias...Delighted asisstant

Assistant Macclesfield manager Ray Mathias has revealed his delight of the Silkmen beating the dreaded drop from the Football League.

The Silkmen picked up the point they needed against Notts County at the weekend and Mathias says he is not bothered how they got it.

"It wasn't the greatest of games, but it's not easy with the pitch being like that."

He also handed appreciation to boss Paul Ince who has been the master mind behind Macc's route to safety.
