Notts County winger Myles Weston's departure from the club to Brentford, as first announced on NCM last week, has been confirmed today. The speed merchant has signed a deal with Andy Scott's side, despite having had a 3-year contract offer on the table since October at Meadow Lane, and will battle with the Bees' player of the season Sam Wood for a spot in the Griffin Park side.

Weston excited many with his pace and trickery down the left side, but will have to improve his work rate and final delivery if he is to make an impression at a higher level. Having offered him a new deal and Weston being under 24, the Magpies will be entitled to a fee that looks set to be determined by tribunal, after Notts categorically rejected an offer from Brentford to settle the matter.

Weston joined Notts from Charlton Athletic, initially on loan, and despite a troubled first season at the club progressed over the summer and had an excellent campaign last season, winning the manager's player of the year. Notts will no be looking for a replacement for Weston, with rumours hotting up that Shrewsbury Town man Ben Davies could be heading to Meadow Lane.
