We Got Him!

The versatile legend, who'd previously been on a third and final month's loan from Coventry, has played 15 games for the Magpies and will now feature in the final four games, which- on a slightly less positive note- will surely confirm that we'll be playing in Division Three next season.

There is no fee involved in the transfer as Coventry terminated his contract by mutual consent earlier today.

Pipe was already one of the favourites in the player of the season vote (showing just how good he is, as he's only played 15 games) and now the news of him signing, taking a paycut and dropping a probable Two Divisions in the process, may well give him the edge.

I certainly wouldn't have any complaints if he took the honour.

The signing is a major coup for Gary Mills, and with Pipe, Stefan Oakes, Ian Richardson, Matty Williams and Steve Scoffham all on board Notts are looking more than equipped to bounce back to Division Two at the first attempt, should the worst/inevitable happen.

More on the signing of David Pipe to come.
