Veron To Play

Last updated : 27 October 2003 By Rob Davies
Veron, who is said to be on around £100,000 a week, has failed to make an impact at Stamford Bridge so far, since signing from Man United in the summer.

Veron is widely regarded as one of the top midfielders in Europe and it will be interesting to see how Notts' Ian Baraclough will feel about marking him.

Although Veron will play, Ranieri has said that there will be changes, and star names will be rested.

"I will make changes but I usually do that anyway," said Ranieri.

"I will check on my players because it has been a busy time. If some of them are tired, I will give them a rest.

"Veron will play though. He was OK after the Lazio match but I said to him that he should restart his fitness."

Another international that is hoping to play is England starlet, and one of my personal favourite players, Joe Cole.

"It would be nice if I'm playing again on Wednesday but we'll see what kind of team is picked," said Cole.

"I knew what the situation was when I came here. I still have belief in my ability and I know that, if I keep doing well the opportunities come, and I'll eventually establish myself."

Damien Duff and Glenn Johnson are also expected to feature, but with Claudio Ranieri you just never know.
