Update: The Pitch is Playable

Despite the county being coated with a thick closure of snow, the club are focusing their every effort on ensuring tonight’s game goes ahead, courtesy of the frost cover the club has loaned.

Whilst the pitch has been covered since Christmas Eve to make sure the surface remains playable, the problem lies in the state of the stands, which remain icy and thus a danger to the crowds who are to descend on the ‘Lane for tonight’s encounter.

The club faced a similar problem for last season’s home fixture also, ironically, against Northampton, with the Boxing Day fixture being called off at the eleventh-hour due to unsound conditions in the Meadow Lane stands caused by the frost.

Contrary to hear-say spreading around the NCM Messageboards, the game is not yet postponed, with both clubs agreeing that a pitch inspection will be required prior to a final decision being put forward.
