Two in, one out

Gone for good?: Mackenzie looks destined to leave Meadow Lane permanently.
It's been a busy day on the transfer front at Meadow Lane today, with two arrivals and one departure.

Earlier today it was announced that out of favour midfielder, Neil Mackenzie has joined League Two rivals, Port Vale on loan.

This deal will expire at the end of December, but it has not been unveiled whether the move is to become permanent, should the former Scunthorpe United man impress sufficiently.

Mackenzie's future at the club appears to be in great doubt having appeared just once as a substitute so far this term.

He was also shipped out to Conference Premier outfit, Kidderminster Harriers earlier in the season.

With one leaving, two fresh faces have joined the squad. Stoke City starlet, Nathaniel Wedderburn and Derby County's Mitchell Hanson have today signed for Notts on short-term loan deals.

17-year-old Wedderburn is a quick left-footed player that can operate comfortably in both midfield and defence.

He is also available for selection for Sunday's FA Cup match with Kettering Town.

Hanson, 20, is not however, but will be in contention for a place in the squad against Morecambe on December 6.

The Magpies now have six players on loan, of which a maximum of five can be included in a match day squad.
