Transfer embargo lifted

Scardino told the official site: "We are to continue what has been dubbed ‘The Great Escape Fund’, something that has already amassed more than was required to lift the embargo, and it will be used as a feeder for a player purchase fund.

“I have to say that the response we have received was simply astonishing. Dozens of supporters came forward to make donations, many of whom have not participated in sponsorship or marketing initiatives prior to this situation.

Happy days at Meadow Lane again
“The amounts we received varied from £20 through to more than one contribution of £25,000. The speed and quantity of contributions far exceeded anything we had expected, and we are both grateful and proud of those who support this team, and have taken this opportunity to claim a stake in the ownership of Notts County.

“We are still a long way off solving the financial problems at the club, but with this level of support we will get there sooner rather than later.

“We still need every kind of support, whether it be through children bringing their voices, someone enjoying a meal in our matchday restaurant, buying a ticket, becoming a shop patron or whatever. Every pound counts.”

Billy Dearden can now, finally start to strengthen a very thin Notts County team.
