Scully has been on-loan at Conference national side Exeter City since the end of August but, with his three-month loan set to expire in the next couple of weeks, Thordarson has today admitted that he is looking for the situation to be permanently resolved in the near future.

The County boss told the Irish winger at the start of the season that he did not figure in his plans and the 50-year-old has clearly not changed his mind, despite Scully putting in a number of impressive performances for the Grecians.

"We are monitoring the Scully situaition and we may see a solution to that in the near future," Thordarson told the official website.

"Nothing has been decided in concrete yet but from my point of view I think it would be best for Scully to try and get a future elsewhere.

"I had a good chat with him last week and I hope that a solution can be found that can be beneficial for both parties."

Much-travelled Scully has scored 3 times in 12 appearences for Exeter, who currently sit at the top of the Conference division.
