Notts picked up their first three points of the campaign after a 1-0 win over Dagenham on Saturday.

At the sixth attempt, Thommo says he was happy to get the first victory on the board.

"I am relieved with the win, and we all know it has been a difficult week," he said.

"We've had to make our own luck, and we have a hard working set of players and I am so pleased for them and also the supporters," explained the County chief.

With seven points from six games, Notts sit 15th in the table and already the boss is looking ahead.

McCall...Mixed feelings
"Coming up are some tough games now against two sides who got relegated last season in Rotherham and Chesterfield, but we will keep going and going and we are looking forward to those games," said Thompson.

Saturdays game may momentarily relieve some pressure on Thompson, but it won't last long if results don't the Magpies way over the next couple of weeks.

Bradford's Stuart McCall has praised his sides defending that eraned them a 1-0 win over highly fancied Posh.

"I thought we defended excellently but creatively we can do much better," he said.

"Peterborough have got good players in all positions so it's a terrific win," he added.

Assistant Ray Mathias has once again hailed the Dons after a 3-0 win at Brentford.
Peters...High standards

"Once we got into our stride I thought we dominated for spells and overall we were a different class," he said.

Shrewsbury's Gary Peters was on the other hand far from pleased with his sides 2-0 win over Accrington.

"It's yet another game where we've won but I'm not happy with the performance. That's fine if we keep winning but we need to improve," said the Shrews boss.
