The jury have reached their verdict…

Last updated : 09 October 2004 By Richard Brown

Well the jury that is NCM’s loyal readers have come back and, just 11 games into the new season, the vote is very much unanimous with a massive proportion of 45.5% of you deciding that enough is enough, and Mills should be shown the door.

It’s taken just 36 league games under Mills’ guidance: reading eight wins, eleven draws and seventeen defeats – a win per game ratio bettered by Bill Dearden and Jocky Scott before him – going a long way to justifying your feelings.

Twenty-seven signings and the departures of Mark Stallard and Paul Heffernan later, and loyalties appear to have strayed from Mills, with 28.7% undecided about his destiny – but sure of the fact he should be given till Christmas to turn the good ship Notts County into calmer waters.

An outspoken 14.2% of you believe he should be given a full season at the helm to change our fortunes, whilst a further silenced minority still believe he should stay unconditional of the period of time, just 11.6% abiding in this line of thinking.

The full results of the poll are below.
