The Great 'Boo' Debate

Last updated : 04 September 2007 By Gary Moss

Notts were booed from the pitch after a disppointing 1-1 home draw with Morecambe on Saturday.

After a winless start to the season, fans are not happy...

The messageboard has been swmaped by negative posts. Here's some of then as the 'Boo' debate hits top level

"This kind of behavior makes me embarassed to be a Notts supporter and used to be what I expected of Forest fans. If you want to see free flowing

Old Trafford...The home of entertainment
entertaining football every week, go and get a season ticket at Old Trafford. Other then the first 25 mins in the second half Notts played well yesterday (V Morecambe) and it's about time some of the whiners on here get behind the team."

Up_the _pies questions support

"Some of our fans are so fickle and change from week to week!"

Postypie

"I haven't got rose tinted specs on, of course he's (Thompson) not the best manager in the world, and if he were he'd be at Chelsea or Real Madrid. I actually think that people on here WANT us to lose so they can have a good old moan."

Up_the_pies questions fans motives

"I support my club and don't condone the booing - What? we should cheer and clap players for a poor performance?? No way, we should vent our feelings.

Gary_Notts understands fans frustration

"It costs nothing but professionalism for the players to put the effort in. It costs nothing but Thommo to be unafraid of getting outside his comfort zone to try to play entertaining football. We are accepting lazy headed play and lazy headed management and we shouldn't. If I did that in my job, as presumably is true of many of us, I wouldn't have a job for long.
It is not about witch-hunting, it is about pride and value for money."

Boo...Fans show their frustartion
The Mouf lays down the law

"I think a lot of the booing is from those fans who just want Thompson out at all costs, which goes to prove my long-standing point that the Board were unwise to appoint a manager most fans didn't want."

Jackal2 thinks Thommo cannot win

"At the end of the day, we have had 5 years of crap folks, we have had enough..."

Marshall55

"I want rid of Thompson but didn't boo, I can understand why folks did though."

NOTTSNPROUD - not one to criticise

"I booed because it was very poor entertainment and I along with others wanted to show the manager and the team that the performance was unacceptable."

Capitalmagpie explains his actions

"Booing.....I cannot understand that either.
DO you really think that is going to make someone play better?"

Feeb is against Booing

Empty seats...Notts losing fans

"No more away trips for me until something drastic happens, I cannot justify the expense to watch to week in week out dross that Thompson produces."

Pissedoffmagpie has had enough

"Some will say I'm fickle but I've seen Notts over the years as a strong, dangerous side that opponents don't want to play and can give anyone in their league a game to remember. By comparison the NCFC name now is a flag of convenience for a bunch of no-hopers to sail under for a season or two while taking my money. No thanks."

Dohpie is unhappy with the Notts of today

"I'll still get behind and watch Notts and still hopeful things will get better but the extension of Thommo's contract still riles me, by all means extend it if we are doing well but you have to earn the right to an extension first."

Jurgenpie is bemused

"I stopped going before Steve Thompson was appointed, but I'm still waiting for the entertainment to return to Meadow Lane before I go back on a regular basis."

Thommo...Under scrutiny
Runningpie demands more

"Have been supporting for 30 years and this has to be the worst team and style of play we have ever had since I have been going down."

Trevork's view

"It's time the people in charge realised most fans have had enough and are not prepared to, and will not throw much needed money at the club via the turnstiles any longer.
Come on Notts give us reason to go , entertain us , all we ask is that we win the bulk of our home games like we used to in the past .."

Sandpie

"I'm still a season ticket holder but my passion has long gone. I don't even stand up to clap the players on to the field these days. Just another Zombie at Meadow Lane."
