Team news...vs. Scunthorpe

Last updated : 27 December 2004 By Richard Brown

With no match on Boxing Day, Magpies player-manager Ian Richardson goes into tomorrow’s match away to Scunthorpe without any fresh injury worries to contend with.

Ullathorne - Finally ready  for comeback?
Rob Ullathorne, who was set to return on Boxing Day before postponement of the match with Northampton, is expected to make only his third appearance since late November. The former La Liga player, who’s set to recover from a groin injury for the trip east, looks likely to allow Richardson to revert to a more usual 4-4-2 formation.

Julian Baudet, who joined Ullathorne in his return at the Vetch almost a ten days ago, is also set to return from injury tomorrow after overcoming the calf injury that has dogged his progress as of late.

Meanwhile, Steve Scoffham and Mike Edwards – both long-term injury victims – are both dead certainties to miss out whilst Ian Richardson, still recovering from minor knee surgery, is also set to miss out.

From the other camp, however, the all-too familiar figure of Ian Baraclough – a former servant of the club – is to be examined shortly before the clash, after he was required to change his shirt three times in the virus-hit Irons’ Boxing Day clash with Chester due to a head injury.

Glynn Hurst is also set to miss out as he serves a one-match ban.
