Team news…vs. Oxford United

Last updated : 08 April 2005 By Richard Brown

Notts boss, Ian Richardson – himself ruled out of the fixture after undergoing knee surgery – looks all set to go into the clash with Oxford tomorrow without the experienced pairing of Mike Whitlow and Rob Ullathorne.

Ullathorne: A doubt
Whitlow, originally set for a return to action this weekend, has since been ruled out after, like Richardson, a troublesome knee injury continues to hamper his season.

The 37-year old Notts captain – who has made just twenty-two league appearances for the Magpies this campaign – has been an almost ever-present on the treatment table this season, a disappointing fact considering the influential role the veteran continues to play for the club.

Another old hand who looks likely to miss out tomorrow is former La Liga and Premiership practised left-back, Rob Ullathorne.

With a recurring groin problem continuing to pose a problem for the defender, the Magpies look short on cover for Ullathorne – with Chrissy Palmer the only candidate likely to deputise, this after boss Richardson mentioned the possibly earlier in the week.

Long-serving injury victims Mike Edwards (knee) and Gavin Gordon (broken jaw) remain sidelined, whilst midfielder Stef Oakes serves his one-match ban.
