Team news…vs. Northampton Town

With no fresh injury worries to contend with ahead of the match with the high-flying Cobblers, it seems that (without trying to apply too many Christmas links) Santa has come early for the 34-year old Notts boss.

Whilst Richardson himself will be sidelined for the hectic Christmas period after undergoing minor knee surgery last week, he has an almost full squad to ponder over ahead of Sunday’s contest. 'Almost full' being key.

Mike Edwards, pictured, is said to be ahead of schedule on the comeback trail, although is still out of action, and will remain absent for the coming months after snapping cruciate ligaments in September.

Steve Scoffham, said also to be looking well for an early comeback and thus ready for training soon, is also a definite no-go as he recovers from a broken leg. However, expect to see the former Gedling man back in action within the next few months.

Meanwhile, Rob Ullathorne (groin) and Julien Baudet (calf) both came through last weeks fruitless trip to the Vetch without further complications and are again available for selection – should the gaffer so wish.

Although, after hinting today to reverting to a 4-4-2 formation, Richardson could play the duo from the off.
