No moves: Port Vale have not been successful in signing Robbie Savage on loan...
Port Vale were hoping to make at least one loan signing ahead of tomorrow's game, but caretaker manager, Dean Glover has been unsuccessful in securing any deals - mainly down to the lack of funds available.

Midfielder, Paul Edwards could make his first start of the season, following his return from an ankle injury.

Missing out though will be fellow midfielder, Luke Chapman, having just undergone knee cartilage surgery.

Steve Thompson will not be able to push Marc Richards and Luke Rodgers for a place up front, as he has only just returned from a lengthy hamstring issue and is not yet prepared for first-team action.

Louis Dodds, Kyle Perry and James Lawrie will be in contention to replace the regular strike duo, who have been struggling for goals in recent weeks.

Goalkeeper, Chris Martin is also hoping to be included after his return from a back injury.

Notts County have no new injury worries, except for Spencer Weir-Daley,

who has a slight groin problem, but he is expected to be fit in time for selection.

Adam Nowland (hamstring) and Stephen Hunt (hamstring) remain on the injury table with their long-standing problems.

Competition for places in the centre of midfield is quite fierce at present, especially with Jay Smith looking sharp after replacing Gavin Strachan against Aldershot.

However, Strachan and last week's goal hero, Richard Butcher, are expected to be the favoured pairing.

It is likely that Notts will remain unchanged from the starting 11 that went into the previous game.
