Notts County manager, Ian McParland may hand Gavin Strachan his first start of the season after coming through 90 minutes unscathed in midweek.

First start: Canham is pushing hard for a starting position...
Also pushing for a return is Michael Edwards, who was absent against Exeter with a groin problem, but was expected to return to training yesterday.

A resolute showing from Adam Tann could delay the comeback, but it is likely that the team's captain will be given the nod.

Delroy Facey or Jamie Forrester could drop to the bench, with Sean Canham unable to miss the target at the moment - scoring two in his last two games.

Jamie Clapham is expected to start again at left-back with Paul Mayo taking up the role of a substitute.

The only players missing through injury will be Stephen Hunt (groin) and Adam Nowland (hamstring).

Aldershot Town will be without the experienced Ricky Newman because he is currently serving a three-match ban for seeing red in the Shots' 3-1 loss to Luton Town.

Former Mansfield Town man, Rhys Day (hernia) and Dave Winfield (knee) are

Return: Mendes is likely to appear later in the game...
both injured, meaning that the only remaining centre-backs available for selection are Chris Blackburn and Anthony Charles.

Scott Davies looks set to retain his place in the centre of midfield after his late winner against Gillingham last week.

Alongside him there is a tough battle for places with Kirk Hudson and Ben Harding facing stiff competition from Scott Donnelly and Lewis Chalmers.

Marvin Morgan and John Grant look set to continue in attack, but former Notts want-away, Junior Mendes could be pushing for a start, following a goal against Milwall Reserves earlier in the week.
