Team news: Duo back in training

Not ready: Hunt is back in training but not yet ready to play.
Notts County have finally welcomed back long-term absentee, Stephen Hunt, who has been out with a groin injury since the back end of last season.

He is not ready for a return to action just yet, but he could be in contention for a place in the 16 over the next couple of weeks.

Right-back, Jason Beardsley has also re-joined the squad after three weeks out with a thigh strain.

He is expected to head straight into the team, with John Thompson reverting back into the centre of defence in place of the missing Michael Johnson (toes).

Jamie Forrester may drop to the bench, having been withdrawn again on Saturday, meaning that Sean Canham or Spencer Weir-Daley may be given a start.

Neil Mackenzie, who has been out on loan to Kidderminster Harriers, may also take a place in the squad following the expiration of his deal with the Conference Premier outfit.

Adam Tann (knee) and Gavin Strachan (hamstring) are the only other casualties.

Ouch: Stanton picked up a horrible head injury at the weekend.

Rochdale could be without defender Nathan Stanton through a nasty head injury that has required several stitches.

The gash was sustained in the weekend's game with Aldershot Town and he has since been rated as 'doubtful'.

Both Marcus Holness and Nathan D'Laryea are standing by, because they may be called upon to replace the Nottingham-born defender.

Former Magpie, Simon Ramsden will certainly miss out with a niggling calf problem, as well as Jon Shaw, who has been struggling with his hamstring since August.
