Tann or Hunt to start

Back in contention: Hunt is ready for action after recovering from a knock.
With Michael Johnson likely to be rested for tonight's game with Gillingham, either Stephen Hunt or Adam Tann will step in to replace him.

The pair teamed up at the heart of defence in last week's 2-0 loss to Luton Town and received some stick for their somewhat abject display.

Both players' contracts expire at the end of the season meaning that both will be keen to demonstrate why they should be offered a new deal.

Although there was another uninspiring collective performance against Accrington it is unlikely that many other changes will be strung.

Richard Butcher, however, may be hoping to operate alongside John Thompson in the centre of midfield after replacing Adam Nowland on Saturday.

Russell Hoult was last week informed that he will be out for another month with his shoulder injury allowing Kevin Pilkington to continue between the sticks.

Gills' boss Mark Stimson is prepared to risk Simon King and Andy Barcham despite the pair carrying knocks.Dennis Oli and Garry Richards are on stand-by if needed.
