Stallard has scored 25 goals this season for the struggling Magpies, and has been in superb form since just before Christmas and has hit some vital goals to fire Notts to safety and ensure it's Division 2 football again next season.

He picked up the award for the 2000-2001 season too, when he hit 23 goals for The Magpies who finished 8th in Jocky Scott's first season at the helm at Meadow Lane.

Runner up was Nicky Fenton, who has been impressive in defence this season, and third game young Irishman Paul Heffernan, who has formed a deadly stirke pairing with Stallard.

"Mark is thoroughly deserving of the award, he has done a tremendous job for us this season," Manager Billy Dearden told the Evening Post.

"His goals have been invaluable for us, they have probably played a part in keeping us clear of trouble.

"And his record is impressive, when you take all things into consideration."
Added Dearden.

Heffernan picked up the Young Player of the Season award while promising striker Sean Harrad was named as Reserve Team Player of the Season.

Young Willis Francis was named Youth Team Player's Player of the Season, while Danny Bostock was named Youth Team Player of the Season, and defender Kelvin Wilson picked up the Most Improved Youth Team Player award.
