After Billy Dearden, who spent two years with the club, handed in his resignation before last nights 5-2 defeat at Peterborough United, the Notts board have been on the look out for his replacement. And today, Coventry chief executive, Graham Hover has revealed that he is expecting an approach from County for the ex-Magpie and now Sky Blues assistant at some point today.

However, nothing official is said to have been discussed, yet.

Mills, who made 53 appearances for the Magpies during the between 1994 and 1996, leads the way in terms of possible candidates ahead other Notts old-boys, Nicky Law and Dean Thomas.

Although Nigel Spackman’s name has also been thrown into the running – but nothing official has been mentioned.
