Stockport New Manager

McIlroy has tonight quit his job as manager of Northern Ireland national squad and Stockport have handed him a three year deal.

This is one hell of a coup for Stockport, persuading a manager of a national team, no matter how poor (Sorry all you Irish!), to join a struggling Division Two outfit.

This is bad news for Notts, as invariably the new manager wins his first game in charge, especially a home game against a fellow struggler...

But hey! The last time McIlroy saw one of his sides score was in February 2002, he's managed 13 games since then and his side have played 1,242 minutes of football without hitting the net.

Another 90 minutes without one will do us nicely.....
