Still in Administration...For Now

Peter Joyce, head of the Blenheim consortium, is to meet League officials on Thursday to update them on the progress that has been made.

He said he doesn't think the takeover will be ready in time for the next full meeting, but should be completed within the next three weeks.

And he said there is no particular reason to worry about the delay, it's still all very much going to plan.

"We have been playing catch-up to some extent, over the last month or so,"
Joyce told the Evening Post.

"But it is important to make it clear that there are no problems, none at all. In fact we are very positive.

"One of the things that has taken a little time has been getting the Supporters' Trust up to speed since they have become involved.

"But we are glad to have them on board, because we are making the most of their expertise.

"There are some very professional people involved with the trust and it is only wise that we utilise that.

"There are all sorts of ways in which they can - and are only too happy to - help.

"But we are getting there, things are going well."

And Joyce sets he expects a positive reaction from the League on Thursday.

"It is not an official meeting, it is merely a chance for us to give them an update on where we stand,"
he said.

"We are very positive. It was our aim to have things done in time for the monthly league meeting and that may not now be possible.

"But that is not a blow, because we are still hoping to have it done by the end of October.

"I would be very surprised if it wasn't. We are merely going through the process and it takes time."

Administrator Paul Finnity, who originally said he hoped Notts would be out of administration this week, also told the Evening Post:

"This should not be regarded as a missed deadline. It was hoped that things would be done by the league meeting, but things are still progressing well with the consortium. We are in daily contact and everyone is very positive."

Also news today, is that Oldham Athletic, who were in serious danger of extinction, have been given until November to come out of administration.

Oldham have interested two US businessmen, who paid the £500,000 needed to keep the club afloat.

We at NCM, and I would like to hope all at the fans of Notts County, wish The Latics all the best in securing their future.
