Situation as was for Mills

Notts

County's visit to Layer Road tomorrow will be without fresh injury worries for the Notts manager, Gary Mills. His only loss remains to be that of Steve Mildenhall's recovery from a tendon transplant.

The 6"5 shot-stopper, who has managed only the four apearances under Mills' reign due to, first, a fractured cheekbone and then the return of a previous injury, is said to be responding well although he is still not expected to return to the fray prior to the end of the season.

Paul Bolland, out with a hamstring strain last Saturday against Blackpool, is expected to enter the fray again and gives Mills a selection headache in midfield, after his replacement in the Blackpool game, Frazer McHugh, played a blinder.

New striker Matty Williams scored a hat-trick in mid-week for the reserves which takes him in contention for a starting spot alongside Paul Heffernan, though Steve Scoffham- who has recovered from a bang on the head- and Andy Parkinson may have something to say about that.

16-year-old David McGoldrick's two goals for the reserves may also take him back into contention for a seat on the bench.

Notts (probable): Garden, Pipe, Fenton, Barras, Richardson, Bolland, McHugh, Oakes, Scully, Heffernan, Scoffham.

Subs (from): Deeney, Baraclough, Riley, Bewers, Briggs, Baldry, Parkinson, Williams, McGoldrick.

Colchester

The U's welcome back 15-goal-striker Scott McGleish after he came through forty-five of reserve team football earlier in the week. On-loan Watford man, Wayne Brown also returns after completing a one-match ban whilst Karl Duguid, who scored in County's last visit to Layer Road, has been ruled out through injury.

Striker Wayne Andrews begins a 3 match ban after being sent off against Peterborough for violent conduct.
