Situation as was

It’s one thing to go into a match on the back of holding league leaders, Scunthorpe United to a 0-0 draw, and it’s an equally notable feat of having just beaten a side that, prior to the match, were nine places above you in the league, but to have the atypical luxury of being able to name an unchanged side after doing so is quite something else.

Richo: Still out
Those are the conditions that poor old caretaker-boss, Ian Richardson currently finds himself facing.

With Glynn Hurst having re-established his place in the side, it seems almost settled that he will go into the Bank Holiday fixture up-front alongside Gavin Gordon.

Richardson himself also has to contend with being sidelined for the visit of Rochdale and Steve Parkin, the former Notts assistant under Billy Dearden.

As expected, Steve Scoffham (leg) and Mike Edwards (knee) will also sit out of the Magpies’ third game in the space of just seven days.

Report back to NCM after tomorrow’s match for all the action and reaction from the ‘Lane.
