Silkmen back in trouble

Who would have thought it?

It looks as if Paul Ince's Macclesfield Town have been dragged

Ince...Needs to rally his troops
back into relegation trouble.

But, will the Silkmen this time have enough to pull off an escape?

It was almost unthinkable that Macclesfield may go down after Ince performed miracles to pull Town from the foot of the division, but with Wrexham, Boston, Bury and Accrington hitting form in a last ditch effort beat the drop, the Silkmen are suddenly right back in contention.

Ince's side have never been completely clear of danger and their recent slump of form has put them right back in amongst the fight.

The third bottom Silkmen face a trip to fellow struggler's Accrington Stanley on Saturday, knowing that only three points will do.

Town will not particularly fancy their chances ahead of what could be tricky away game.

Ince's men have won just one of their last ten away from home whilst Stanley are unbeaten in six at the Fraser Eagle.

The sides are tied on 47 points at the moment and Saturday's victors are almost certain of another season in League Two. There could be no greater incentive for these two struggling teams.

If Macclesfield do come away empty handed, it gifts second bottom Boston United a chance to escape the drop zone with a win over already relegated Torquay.

The Pilgrims have won three of their last four at home and will fancy their chances against a Torquay side who have yet to win away since the start of December.

Totally irrelevant to the Gull's, but this game is vital to Boston if they have any hope of maintaining their Football League status.

Resurgent Wrexham have won the last three on the bounce and are up to 20th in the division.

The Red Dragons need just one point to secure safety and they'll be hoping their trip to second paced Walsall will be enough to end their role in this season's lower table scrap.

Walsall
have already secured promotion to League One but are still

Bescot Stadium...Set to host Walsall v Wrexham
in with a shout of the title if they can turn over the Welshmen.

With the Saddlers on a run of just one defeat in their last ten, Carey's side may have to wait until their final day showdown with Boston, to guarantee their escape.

Bury only need a draw as well, following their heroic 1-0 win at the Bescot Stadium last week. They'll be hoping to preserve their League Two status whilst denting Stockport's hopes of making the play-off's as they travel to Edgely Park at the weekend.

The Shakers have won three of their last six and will be hoping to finish the job off beating this year's drop. After an agonising last day relegation game with Notts last year, Chris Casper will be hoping to complete his work a weekend ahead of time, this season around.
