The 19-year-old winger capped a lively individual display with a looping header that looked set to give Notts an unlikely victory, until Robbie Foy's stoppage-time leveller.

Sheridan was used as a striker by manager Gudjon Thordarson, replacing top-scorer Glynn Hurst at the half-time interval.

And now the homegrown starlet - a summer signing from Central Midlands' League outfit Dunkirk - believes he is ready for an extended spell in the team.

"Now I want to establish myself in the first team," he told the Official Website.

"So far I have had a few runs in the side, but I am looking to be one of the first names on the team sheet every week.

"This goal can hopefully push me on to do that."

Sheridan was previously released from the Notts County Academy at the age of 15, and had been playing for petrol money at Dunkirk, before impressing in an extended trial for the Magpies in the summer.

The Nottingham-born player has made 14 appearences this term, eight of those coming from the bench.
