The winger, who has also been played up-front this term, saw his future left very much in limbo after he was excluded from those players having signed terms before the season's end, nor, however, had the youngster been released from the club.

However, it emerged today that Sheridan – who prior to his signing with the club worked as a shop assistant with FCUK – would pen a fresh one-year deal with the club, a contract that will see him remain with the club until at least next summer.

Sheridan, 19, made fourteen starts for the club in his first season as a professional, making another fourteen appearances from the bench that have seen the Nottingham-born midfielder today rewarded with a new deal.

The youngster becomes the sixth player to sign on for next season, with Sheridan (pictured) joining David Pipe, Dan Martin, Kevin Pilkington, Tommy Hannigan and Liam Needham in the class of 2007.

With Sheridan signed on, rest assured that, throughout the summer, NCM will continue to bring you news of all the goings-on at the ‘Lane.
