Season ticket sales pass 2,000 mark

Notts County have today announced that, by the end of the extended discounted season ticket deadline on Saturday, the club had sold 2,066 season ticket, just 130 down on the same stage last season. This despite a terrible year on the pitch for the Magpies, and has to be put down to the swell of optimism surrounding the recent takeover bid by Munto Finance Ltd.

The club opted to extend the deadline for discounted season tickets two weeks ago, and this move seems to have worked with a late rush of sales taking the overall figure past the 2,000 mark. It is hoped that, should the takeover go through, the club could even surpass last season's figure and head towards 3,000 sales before the start of the new campaign.

Chairman John Armstrong-Holmes told nottscountyfc.co.uk:-

"Season-ticket sales got away to a very slow start and in all honestly, that was only to be expected.

But we extended the Early Bird deadline to give fans every chance to take advantage of the discount prices after the takeover bid was announced, and we're delighted at the way they've responded."
