Scoreline was ‘unfair' – Richardson

Notts, who lost 4-0 at Boston last night, slumped to their second successive defeat against the Lincolnshire club, with all four goals coming in the last fourteen minutes of the action.

Richo: "It was just not good enough"
The Magpies had managed (somehow) to withstand constant pressure from their hosts for 76 minutes of the match before David Noble finally broke the dead-lock. The opener, as it turned out, only to open the flood-gates for the home side…

Jermaine Easter – making his debut for the club – followed Noble’s lead with a brace within six minutes before Lee Thompson completed the rout, capitalising on a poor clearance from debutant ‘keeper, Rob Elliot.

However, despite a fairly convincing spanking, Ian Richardson – in an interview slightly reminiscent of ex-boss, Gary Mills after the 4-0 defeat at Tranmere last season – came out to claim the sympathy vote for his team of ‘men’, claiming the result to be ‘unfair’.

Speaking to the Nottingham Evening Post after the defeat, a somewhat humbled Richardson said "It was hard to accept that we lost by such a margin after it staying 0-0 for so long."

"But for some reason our defending became appalling. We sat too deep and were let down by some experienced people. It just was not good enough and ended a really disappointing week for us."

"We now know we have got to work much harder."
