Scoffham at heart of injury scare

Last updated : 26 March 2006 By Richard Brown

Scoffham was stretchered from the field of play in this afternoon's 2-0 defeat to high-flying Northampton Town after Cobbler's captain Sean Dyche struck the striker down shortly after half-time.

Dyche was duly sent-off, with Scoffham (pictured) being rushed to a local hospital suffering a suspected broken leg.

The player has had little luck in his short professional career, having suffered two broken legs during his time with the club. Whilst, on this occasion, the injury is believed to have been sustained to the player's left leg, the outcome appears just as grim.

Scoffham's professional career has thus far been restricted to just 22 first-team starts due to injury, with the player managing to score just five league goals since signing from non-league Gedling Town almost two-and-a-half years ago.

Meanwhile, Scoffham's team-mate Lee Crooks is also nursing a potentially serious injury, with ‘The Beast' reputed to have lost his vision after taking an elbow to the face during the first-half at the Sixfields.
