Scoff to face further draw back?

As one of the most ill fated individuals amongst our ranks, Steve Scoffham – just weeks away from his personal date of return – has artlessly added to his desperately poor bill of luck after taking a tumble at home that may well aggravate his already dubious injury plight, after toppling over in his kitchen.

Scoffham – one of the eleven full-time squad members who’ve already been sidelined through injury this season – has prompted unease with the club’s management and fitness staff after falling down a step at his Nottinghamshire home, after having only just returned to training after recovering from a broken leg.

The 21-year old, former Gedling Town striker – whose contract is due to expire at the end of the current season – is finding his professional dream held back further still should a scan – scheduled for next Friday – reveal further damage to the leg following his domestic misdemeanour.

Gary Mills told the Evening Post yesterday: "We are obviously hopeful that it is not the case. He had an accident while in the kitchen at home, falling down a step."

"He was scheduled to have the scan anyway, just to make sure the break had completely healed. Now we are hoping that it does not show up any damage."

"He does have some pain and we have him on crutches as a precaution, but we are keeping our fingers crossed."

And they say an Englishman’s home is his castle…
