Schmeichel signs for Notts County

Notts County have today announced the signing of Manchester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £1,000,000, which would be a club record. The former Danish U21 international and son of Manchester United legend Peter impressed when given the nod as first choice by Sven Goran Eriksson at the City of Manchester Stadium but has fallen behind Shay Given and Joe Hart in the pecking order.

Schmeichel has had impressive loan spells with Darlington, Bury, Falkirk, Coventry City and Cardiff City and has signed a five-year deal with the Magpies.
