Sack race: Butcher v Buckley

Last updated : 06 December 2007 By Gary Moss
After a busy midweek schedule, it's straight back to league action for League Two sides.

There will be a certain list though desperate to make up for disastrous performances.
Williamson... Has Chester going great guns

Grimsby lost 4-0 hosting Darlington, while Barnet were thumped 3-0 at Chester.

It is an immediate chance to put things right.

Elsewhere, we have a new bottom two.

Victories for Lincoln and Wrexham sees them move out of the drop while Dagenham and Mansfield fall into trouble.

On the other hand, sides like Rotherham and Peterbrough will be glad of the opportunity to build on recent form just days after morale boosting wins.

Game of the day: Brentford v Grimsby

This week's game of the day sees the divisions under pressure bosses come face to face.

Terry Butcher of Brentford and Alan Buckley of Grimsby face stiff competition to cling onto their jobs.

Till... Can his form save Buckley?
The Bees are sixth without a win scoring just one goal in the process and conceding seven against an in form Posh.

Rumour had it that a loss in the week would end his time at Griffin Park but despite a 1-0 defeat against Morecambe, Butcher remains in the dug out.

The Mariners are in a similar predicament.

Only goal difference sees them outside of the relegation zone after one win in their last twelve in league competition.

A 3-0 win at Barnet saved Buckley, but defeat here could signal the end of his tenure at Blundell Park.

Winger Peter Till has impressed for Town in recent weeks but a lack of end product is costing his side dearly.

NCM Prediction: Brentford to pile the misery on Town. Buckley could be chopped.

Elsewhere...

Lincoln City will go in hunt of a third successive win as they travel to stuttering Hereford.

The Bulls are still without loaned out Lionel Ainsworth - the Imps may fancy
Robinson... Putting defenders tot he sword
their chances.

While in form Theo Robinson has put League Two defenders to the sword so far this term. His thundering pace more reliable than his finishing exploits.

He may feel short changed for goals considering the chances that have fell to him.

In a tussle at the wrong end, Wrexham travel to Dagenham & Redbridge, as Dragons boss Brian Little attempts to hoist his inherited side further up the league ladder.

His keeper Antony Williams has praised his side's resuregence recently in the press after back-to-back clean sheets.

Coleman's Daggers however are in dyer trouble and it could get worse.

Paul Benson has done his utmost to prevent the slide but a lack of quality is costing the minnows.
