Royal visit to Meadow Lane

Last updated : 23 April 2004 By Rob Davies

The Earl is visiting Notts County Football Club to see the ‘Duke of Edinborough’ scheme, which has been taking place throughout Nottinghamshire. He will be spending approximately three hours at Meadow Lane.

Prince Ed, who is the youngest son of HM the Queen, will be meeting various people and dignitaries, and will view some of the work that has been carried out in Nottinghamshire, such as our very own Football In the Community’s ‘Heading for goal’ program, which goes round various schools.

Many Nottinghamshire schools will be represented at His Highness visits the Club.

NCM hope the Earl enjoys his visit and realise that he has certainly picked the right Nottinghamshire ground to visit if he wishes to be entertained.

Rumours that the Earl is the mystery benefactor who saved the club back in November are just that and contain no fact whatsoever. The club are also keen to stress he is NOT on trial at Meadow Lane and the visit is that of a purely social nature.
