The striker, who had verbally agreed to join the Pirates next season, has had talks with Billy Dearden and has now agreed to come to Meadow Lane, instead of the Memorial Stadium.

Clive Platt
Bristol Rovers are unhappy that the former Rochdale striker has walked away from the deal they had struck, although they have now accepted that Platt won’t be turning out for them in August.

The Bristol Club are looking to sue either Clive Platt, his agent or maybe Notts County.

Platt told the Evening Post, "Bristol Rovers made an offer and we verbally agreed terms, but nothing was signed because I got a call from Notts around the same time."

"It’s been hard because the offers have come together and it might not make me look that good, agreeing one job and taking another."

However, it is very unlikely that Bristol Rovers will get very far with this case, as they do not have any written conformation that a deal was agreed.
