Ross Watch 5

On 17th July 2006 Steve Thompson made his final signing of a hectic summer, bringing in Sheffield United youngster Ian Ross.

Ross... Back in Black and White
Joining on a six month loan deal that expired two weeks ago, Ross was set to be the playmaker in the Magpies side that would look towards the Playoff's.

Many would say he failed, some may say he delivered, but Thompson is of the view that he needs to keep Ross and he is set to tie up a deal until the end of the season.

The initial six months saw Ross recalled by United boss Neil Warnock, with Warnock adamant he would give Ross a chance to earn a place in the Premiership sides first team. After three reserve games he has been allowed a Meadow Lane return, until the end of the season at least.

Ross will rejoin the squad on Monday, and is set to be included in the squad to face Barnet at home on Tuesday. However he hasn't agreed a deal in time to aid Notts' quest for three points tomorrow at Hereford.

On Monday, NCM will have a feature on Ross' return…should he have come back or not? Get your views on the Messageboard.
