It's been a frustrating few months for Luke Rodgers, despite the pivotal role he played in Notts' clinching of the League Two title last season. Firstly his prospective move to MLS side New York Red Bulls fell through due to visa issues, then an ankle injury picked up in pre-season required an operation which ruled him out of the start of the season.
Despite picking up another knock on his return to training Rodgers found himself back in the squad for Tuesday's game at Peterborough and, although he didn't get on the pitch, it seemes just a matter of time before he is knocking on the door of the first team once again. Notts manager Craig Short has said he is looking forward to welcoming back Rodgers' 'enthusiasm' into the Meadow Lane set up.
