Richo to swoop?

If reports in the Western Daily Press – basically, the poor man’s Nottingham Evening Post – are anything to go by, then it could well transpire that Ian Richardson is poised to bid for the Robins’ to be out-of-contract midfield man, Steve Robinson - a self-confessed, life-long Notts fan.

Is it a bird, is it a plane...no, it's 'Turbo!'
The 29-year old midfield man [pictured], who looks likely to be on his way out of the County Ground within the next six months, could well see a feasible transfer unfold if Richardson is handed the sufficient funds needed to make such a move possible.

Richardson, who oversaw the Magpies’ money-spinning 2-0 domination of the League One side earlier this month in the FA Cup second round, is said to have made phone calls as to the availability of the former Birmingham, Kidderminster and Peterborough man.

With the wages of Gary Mills, Steve Mildenhall and Steve Sutton now all pardoned from the club’s tight wage structure, Richardson has been on the look-out for players as stop-gap for injuries to his side. After seeing his squad reduced to just 14 fit, senior pro’s for the visit of Swindon, it was clear that some additions were essential.

Rest assured that NCM will bring you a ‘Who are ya?’ and indeed any further developments on the matter over the coming weeks.
