The veteran is currently operating on a week-to-week contract at The ‘Lane after his current deal expired.
Richardson travels to the Lilleshall compound, Shropshire – the establishment responsible for such talents as Alan Smith, Michael Owen and even Kevin Nicholson – for his second stint of treatment since going under the knife in March time.
Richardson – who took control of the Magpies in late October – has made just one appearance for the side prior to the appointment of new boss Gudjon Thordarson.
