Richo out for two months

Richardson, now in his ninth term as a Notts player, had just been re-instated as club captain and was clearly one of the Magpies' most impressive performers so far this season.

The tenacious defender has been an ever-present this season and has also notched up two goals, both in the Carling Cup. His commited defending will be sorely missed for the next two months.

Speaking on the injury, Notts assistant manager Darron Gee told the official site: "The news that Ian needs a knee operation is a big disappointment to everyone because he has been playing superbly this season, but we have simply got to get on with it."

All at NCM would like to wish Ian a very speedy recovery, he will be sorely missed.
