Richo: Mistakes have cost us

After the Magpies fell to their third successive defeat at Chester yesterday, morale on the NCM Messageboard appeared a hit a new low, such is the mentality amongst supporters of late.

Throwing away an early lead given to them by Glynn Hurst, the Magpies went 3-1 down before ever looking like replying. When the response came, it was debutant Ruben Zadkovich who injected some dignity into the result, not enough, however, to savour a point.

Richardson: 'We lack experience'
After the game, manager Ian Richardson lamented more mistakes from his Magpies side, saying it is such personal lapses that are costing his side of late.

Speaking to the press after yesterday’s encounter, Richardson said "I was really pleased with the way we played, but individual errors have cost us. We lack some experience at the back and that showed."

"If we had cut out these errors, I think we would have won the game. We were all over them for 20 minutes and after that we got the first goal and I thought we would go on and win it."

"We finished really strongly and just need to believe in ourselves, but that only comes by winning games."
