Richo lands Managers post

The arrangement was ultimately decided the day prior to the Middlesbrough cup-tie, in which the Board of Directors met to evaluate his current position at the club. And, after assessing the current situation, Richardson was given a unanimous vote in being allowed to continue in his current role until the end of the 2004/05 season.

Richo: Mr. Unanimous
After taking over from Gary Mills in November, with the side slumped in 21st place, Richardson has lead his inherited away from the relegation zone with five wins from his thirteen games in charge.

Although, with little budget to act upon, the 34-year old Richardson faces the task of upholding his promising, early days at the helm.

Speaking to the Notts County Official site, chief executive Patrick Nelson said: “Ian [Richardson], assisted by John Gaunt, has done an excellent job so far in his first managerial position, and we are delighted to confirm that we have offered him the position for the rest of this season,

With Howard Wilkinson to call on for advice, and a good staff, Ian has every chance to make the position his own beyond this.”
