Richo gets his man

Richardson, who lists goalkeepers Wayne Henderson and Rob Elliot, along with Magpies legend, Mark Stallard amongst his loan signings, today completed the signing of former Queens Park Rangers youngster, Ruben Zadkovich.

'The Australian'...He's no Bosnian, though.
The 19-year old – who was set to leave Loftus Road in the summer prior to his transfer earlier today – has signed a fifteen month contract with the club, a deal that will see the rookie midfielder reside with the club until the summer of 2006, the end of next season.

After having been left in waiting by the player’s agent over the completion of the deal, the player was at Meadow Lane earlier today to dot the i’s and cross the t’s, as it were, become manager Ian Richardson’s first permanent signing since taking the reins in November.

The youngster managed to complete the deal six days inside the current transfer window – closing, of course, next Thursday – and in time to make his debut in the Magpies’ visit to Chester City tomorrow.

The youngster – who hails from Australia, starting his career with the academy of Wollongong Rangers – has been given the slightly humble number 29 jersey, as previously worn by Nottingham-born striker Chris O’Grady.
