Richo Believes In Promotion

Ian ‘Richo’ Richardson, who is in his 8th season at Meadow Lane and club captain has every faith in the Magpies bouncing straight back up into Division Two next season with the guidance of manager Gary Mills.

Richardson believes Gary Mills IS the man for the job and has every faith in the Notts manager.

"I think
Gary is certainly the right man to help us bounce back. He has all the credentials to be a very good manager, hopefully with us for a long time yet.” Richardson told the Club’s Official Website.

Richo believes that had, Gary Mills had more time this season, he would have kept Notts up and would not be staring down the barrel of Division Two.
He also believes Mills, who has brought in numerous new players in only the four months he has been in charge at the club, will most definitely be bringing in many more new faces over the summer in a bid to create a winning team that can lift Notts from Division Three.

“The gaffer just ran out of time in the end. But, I believe he can guide us back into Division Two next season.

There have been of new players coming in over the last few months and I am sure there will be more to come.”

Richardson is the only surviving member of the Notts County side which won promotion from Division Three, back in 1997 under the now Bolton manager Sam Allardyce, and he knows just how important it is to bounce straight back up, but with enough time for the squad to bond as a team, he believes the job will be a whole lot easier.

“It is important during pre-season we have time to work together as a team and bond if you like. We know it will be a big challenge next season, but I am sure we can do it.”
