Reported Notts targets move on

Reported Notts County transfers Adrian Patulea and Lee Beevers have both completed moves today, ending speculation linking them with the Magpies. Rumours had been rife that Romanian striker Patulea, and particularly full back Beevers, were on their way to Meadow Lane, with the Lincolnshire Echo reporting that a move for Beevers was imminent only yesterday.

However, the speculation has now been ended with the news that both players have agreed to moves away from Lincoln City. Patulea, who bagged 11 goals for the Imps last season, has signed a two-year deal with League One side Leyton Orient. The Romanian had been linked with a move to Meadow Lane, as well as the likes of Scunthorpe United and Bradford City, but it is the O's who have moved quickest to capture their man. Peter Jackson splashed out £12,000 to bring Patulea in from Petrolul Ploiesti last summer, but was unable to agree a new deal with the forward.

Beevers meanwhile has ended speculation linking him with a move to Meadow Lane, as well as Motherwell, but signing for League One side Colchester United. The U's have been linked with a £300,000 move for Shrewsbury Town striker Grant Holt in the past few days, and have now started their raid on League Two with the free transfer of Beevers. The versatile defender joined City in 2005 for £50,000 from Boston United, and became a key member of the Imps squad, but Jackson was also unable to persuade him to remain at Sincil Bank. Having lost Dany N'Guessan to Leicester, Lee Frecklington to Peterborough, Patulea and Beevers, it is going to prove to be a difficult summer for Lincoln City.
