Ravenhill deal completed

After Notts County announced that Ricky Ravenhill had agreed to sign yesterday, the midfielder today arrived at Meadow Lane to undergo a medical and complete his free transfer from Darlington.

Along with Neal Bishop, who's signing was announced today, he had verbally agreed to join the Magpies but today he became the first fully fledged new signing of the season after signing a two-year deal with the Magpies. Having not been paid at Darlington since January, it seems Ian McParland's determination and enthusiasm to land his man has paid off, with Ravenhill happy that his future is now settled.

Ravenhill told the official site:-

"It really impressed me that Ian McParland, David Kevan and Tommy Johnson all took the trouble to travel up to talk to me.

"That was a measure of how much they wanted me to sign for Notts County and that certainly had a massive influence on my decision as well as being very impressed with what they had to say."
