Prediction panel v Bradford City

Last updated : 09 August 2008 By Dane Vincent

Both sets of fans believe that Notts County will get no more than a draw looking at the prediction panel.

Most believe that Bradford City will be too strong for Ian McParland's side, despite the arrival of some decent players over the summer.

A number of fans from both County and City give their predictions below...

Tommopie8

Match: I expect another season to go by without an opening day victory. I predict a nervy start from both sides with Bradford taking the lead late in first half before Notts equalise midway through the second. Bradford will net the winner in the last five minutes. Prediction: Bradford City 2-1 Notts County

Season: With the new signing combined with the retained squad from last year I think it's fair to say we will see a dramatic improvement in not only the results, but the play as well. With Weston and Hamshaw flying down the wings providing the ammunition for all two-foot-five of Forrester, Weir-Daley and Fairclough, as well as new signings Facey and Canham it's safe to think we'll be able to overcome our pitiful goal tally of last year with no great difficulty. Add that to the class of Nowland, Hoult and Johnson and I think we could be in and about the play-off region for the majority of the season as long as we don't get hit with a terrible injury crisis. Prediction: 9th

Drapes

Match:
I don't think we could have started with a tougher game. I think Bradford will be right up there, and considering we shipped six goals against them last season it is going to be difficult. But with it being a new season, both sides will probably be keen to avoid defeat more than anything, and Notts' defensive work should make that a possibility. The opening day usually sees a lot of draws around the country and I think this will be one of them, with Weir-Daley scoring for Notts. Prediction: Bradford City 1-1 Notts County

Season: Well I certainly think that the News of the World was way over the top tipping us third! But I definitely think it will be much better than last term and we should be realistically aiming for the top half. The starting eleven is just as good as most teams I'd say, but the lack of depth is extremely worrying. I'm going to say we will finish in the top half, and right now I'd probably take that providing we have at least one good cup run as well! Prediction: 10th

Match: I think County will have to wait a week longer to get their points tally off the mark. Bradford have made some astute transfers during the close and will be difficult to stop in front of a healthy home crowd. I do not expect a repeat of last term's 3-0 wash out at Valley Parade but Notts will be tough pushed to claim any points. Stuart McCall has built a side which can have serious title aspirations. I think we will see evidence of this in Saturday's game. Prediction: Bradford City 2-1 Notts County

Season:
I am confident Notts will enjoy improved fortunes in the league this season. Looking at the reinforcements Ian McParland has made to the squad over the summer months, there is no doubt in my mind the Magpies will progress. Prediction: 9th

Trickypies

Match: It will be a very hard first game against a team who have made some very good signings. But, with the signings that Notts have made, and from what I have seen in pre-season, I think we can hold them to a draw. Adam Nowland will score for us. Prediction: Bradford City 1-1 Notts County

Season: From the signings we have made I am predicting Notts to finish just outside the play-offs. Depending on how well the new strikers perform, I think we might even be able to scrape into them. Prediction: 9th

Now a couple of match predictions from
Bradford City fans…

Mark Young

Match: City's new signings too strong for County, despite strengthening over summer. Notts were probably the worst team I watched last season, including Mansfield. Sorry! Prediction: Bradford City 2-0 Notts County

Ben Firth

Match: Bradford will win with Fat Barry Conlon and Omar Daley to get the goals. Both will shut up the many critics they both have in the Valley Parade faithful.
