Possible Scully Return?

Scully was carried off on a stretcher with a nasty knock on his right ankle during the 4-1 defeat at Colchester earlier this month and it was initially feared that he would miss the remainder of the current season.

But according to the player himself, he thinks he could well return before the end of the current season.
Scully spoke to the Club’s Official Website earlier this week and said;

The former QPR man could return to the Notts team before the season is out.
“At the time I thought it was more serious, but it looks as thought I have only sprained ankle ligaments, which has made the ankle very black and blue.

I am hoping I may be able to get back in and play before the season finishes on 8th May, so fingers crossed I can get a match or so under by belt come the end of the season.

It was something I didn't think would happen when I first got injured, that's for sure. I am able to keep my fitness to a good level, as I have been doing fitness and gym work with the Physio.”

Admittedly, the season is effectively over for Notts County as a team, unless a miracle happens, which I doubt it will. But numerous players still have points to prove as far as contracts for next season and beyond are involved.

Scully has already been told by manager Gary Mills that his current contract will be extended into next season, but as always Scully is desperate to get back playing again and prove his worth.

Before injury struck, the former QPR man had made 10 appearances for Notts County since joining from non-league side Tamworth and has scored 3 goals, with his most memorable goal being ‘that’ wonder goal against Blackpool at Meadow Lane, which won him an award on Sky Sport’s Soccer Saturday programme for “Goal of the Week”.
